Account management for admins

Assign product access

As a primary, secondary, or SSO admin, you assign and unassign access to products and services whenever you need in your Autodesk account. To learn more about the roles of admins, see User Management admin roles.

Assign a product seat to users from any available subscription in your team (pool), or assign users to a specific subscription ID.

Assign seats from:

  • Pool: Assign a product seat to users from any available subscription in your team. The system automatically handles seat assignments. As long as your team has enough seats, everyone keeps access.
  • Subscription ID *1234: If you assign a user to a specific subscription ID, they will receive a seat from that subscription only. If the subscription expires, the user’s access to the product will end.

You assign seats in 3 ways:

  • By productAdmins choose products by pool or subscription ID and assign users to them.
  • By userAdmins choose users and assign products by pool or subscription ID.
  • By groupAdmins create groups and assign products to the entire group. You can’t link a group to a specific subscription ID, but after you add a user to a group, you can assign a specific subscription ID to that user.

Note: Admins using classic user management can only assign and unassign products and services by user. See Assign and unassign products and services in classic user management.

    • Provide at least 3 columns. The fourth column is optional:
First name, last name, email address, and Subscription ID (optional).
Note: If you don’t add a subscription ID, the system will assign the user to any available subscription for that product.
    • Save in CSV UTF-8 (Comma delimited) format if your list contains non-English alphabets such as Western European languages with accents (é, ü, ñ, etc.) or non-Latin scripts (Chinese, Arabic, Cyrillic, Korean, etc.)

Assign and unassign products by group

You can use groups to organize users and assign products to several people at once. Instead of assigning products one by one, create groups and add users. Then assign products to those groups. For example, assign AutoCAD to the Architects group, or assign Civil 3D and Navisworks Manage to the Civil Engineers group. To learn how to set up and manage groups, see Manage groups.

Note: You assign groups to your product pool. You can't assign them to specific subscription IDs. You can assign a user who’s part of a group to a specific subscription ID. To do this, use the Assign products by user method.
